SCHIP

The State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) is a program administered by the United States Department of Health and Human Services that provides matching funds to state health insurance programs for families with children that do not qualify for Medicaid but still have relatively low incomes.

Each state is responsible for enacting and administering its own SCHIP program and the criteria for qualification and benefits vary from state to state.

Contact your state's Department of Health or your local health department office for further details about the SCHIP program in your state.
